UW Health physicians are faculty of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and as such, enjoy a rewarding clinical practice combined with enriching teaching and research opportunities.
UW Health has several full and part-time opportunities available throughout Madison and Dane County for qualifed Internists in community-based and university-academic clinic settings.
Community-Based Clinic
- 95 percent clinical practice with up to 5 percent teaching
- Clinic and hospital based practice
- Manage your own patients in hospital
- One half day without clinic (same day every week)
- Call schedule group of ten to twelve (responsible for call once every ten to twelve days)
- Hospital rounding is a shared responsibility - one out of every four weekends
- Opportunities to interact with medical students (hospital and clinic) and residents (hospital)
University-Academic Clinic
- 90-95 percent clinical practice with 5-10 percent teaching and/or research
- Clinic and hospital based practice
- One half day without clinic (same day every week)
- Outpatient call - shared by all monthly
- Inpatient attending for a total of four weeks/year on a resident teaching service
- Many opportunities to teach medical students and residents (inpatient wards and resident clinic)
