Employee Profiles: Peter Olubi, Medical Techonologist
The search was on for Nigerian-born Peter Olubi when he relocated to Wisconsin from the Middle East. And it sounds like he found what he was looking for at UW Health.
Get to know Peter through his answers to the questions below.
What brought you to UW Health?
I relocated to Wisconsin about 10 years ago with my family, after working in the Middle East. When planning the relocation, Wisconsin came on top of our choice after considering many factors, and Madison seemed like the best choice for finding a reputable organization where I could practice as a medical technologist.
I found UW Health to be unique because it serves a broad patient base throughout Wisconsin (and beyond), and I also appreciated that it's an equal opportunity employer.
Since I joined UW Health, I have had the opportunity of working in an organization that provides unparalleled health care to the community and promotes professional development and career advancement for their employees.
What is something most people don't know about you?
I love to sing and I am a member of the choir in my church. I also enjoy playing soccer.
What is your favorite pastime?
I love spending time with my family. As a way to relax, I play video games with my kids. I also like reading varieties of books.
What is your favorite part of working here?
The employees in central lab are fantastic. I am blessed to be part of the team. UW Health offers great opportunities to their employees and I like the fact that anyone who taps into these opportunities can enjoy a better quality of living.
If you were granted one wish, what would it be?
I wish I could be involved in a scientific breakthrough that would be of immense benefit to mankind.
