Ambulatory Pharmacy Work Settings

Hours

• Eight-hour shifts with varying start times from 7am to 1pm
• Day and evening shifts
• Weekend and holiday rotations required

Location

Fifteen sites, including:

• Outpatient and oncology pharmacies at UW Hospital and American Family Children’s Hospital
• Outpatient pharmacies at: 
  • 1 S. Park Clinic
  • 20 S. Park Clinic
  • East Clinic
  • East Towne Clinic
  • Northeast Family Practice Clinic
  • Monona Clinic
  • Odana Atrium
  • University Health Services (on the UW-Madison campus)
  • University Station Clinic
  • West Clinic
  • West Towne Clinic

Service Activities

• Collecting correct patient information
• Entering prescriptions into the computer and processing insurance
• Triaging phone calls
• Contacting insurance companies, physicians and customers over phone

Service Environment

Direct customer/patient contact in a retail pharmacy setting, working to provide comprehensive health service to a wide range of customers.

Service Demands

Must be self-directed, able to provide excellent customer service while multi-tasking, organizing and prioritizing workload. Must demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
