Ambulatory Pharmacy Work Settings
Hours
- Eight-hour shifts with varying start times from 7am to 1pm
- Day and evening shifts
- Weekend and holiday rotations required
Location
Fifteen sites, including:
- Outpatient and oncology pharmacies at UW Hospital and American Family Children’s Hospital
- Outpatient pharmacies at:
- 1 S. Park Clinic
- 20 S. Park Clinic
- East Clinic
- East Towne Clinic
- Northeast Family Practice Clinic
- Monona Clinic
- Odana Atrium
- University Health Services (on the UW-Madison campus)
- University Station Clinic
- West Clinic
- West Towne Clinic

Service Activities
- Collecting correct patient information
- Entering prescriptions into the computer and processing insurance
- Triaging phone calls
- Contacting insurance companies, physicians and customers over phone
Service Environment
Direct customer/patient contact in a retail pharmacy setting, working to provide comprehensive health service to a wide range of customers.
Service Demands
Must be self-directed, able to provide excellent customer service while multi-tasking, organizing and prioritizing workload. Must demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
