Testing Site: Testing will be sent to an approved reference laboratory.

Turnaround Time: Routine: Approximately 2 weeks.


Specimen Requirements

Specimen: Urine

Collection Instructions: No preservative necessary.
Fasting or first void sample is preferable.
15 mL = absolute minimum volume required for testing.

Collection Volume: Preferred: 15 - 30 mL

Specimen Transport: Immediately after specimen collection is completed, transport specimen to UWHC Core Laboratory (B4/220). If transport is delayed, freeze specimen.

Outreach Specimen Transport: Transport frozen specimen to UWHC Core Laboratory (B4/220) on dry ice.

Unacceptable Criteria: Specimen less than 15 mL.

Stability: Ambient: Not acceptable
Refrigerated: Not acceptable
