Specimen Requirements

| Specimen Processing: |
|
5 mL whole blood and six (6) unfixed, well-prepared smears.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Specimen Transport: |
|
Transport at 20-25° C (ambient).
Must be received at UWHC lab Monday through noon Thursday.
Whole blood must be received by ARUP within 24 hours of collection. When only unfixed smears are submitted, the slides must be received within 72 hours of preparation. Protect from light.
