Test Name: Pancreatic Peptide Profile

Test Description: Test Component:

Calcitonin, Gastrin Releasing Peptide, Gastrin, Neurotensin, Pancreastatin, Pancreatic Polypeptide, Substance P, Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide (VIP)


Testing Site: Testing will be sent to an approved reference laboratory.

Days Performed: Once a week.

Turnaround Time: Routine: Up to 21 days.


Specimen Requirements

Specimen: Blood

Collection Instructions: Patient should be fasting 6 hours or more

Collection Container: Preferred: 3- 4mL Lavender top tubes and 1- 9mL Red top tube

Sample Analyzed: Serum and plasma

Volume Required: Preferred: 4 mL frozen plasma and 3 mL frozen serum

Specimen Transport: Transport specimen to UWHC Core Laboratory (B4/220)as soon as possible on cold pack.

Outreach Specimen Transport: Transport frozen specimen to UWHC Core Laboratory (B4/220) on dry ice.

Stability: Ambient: Not acceptable
Refrigerated: Not acceptable

Report provides interpretation.
