| Test Limitations: |
|
Piperacillin-tazobactam (Zosyn) has been shown to cause positive interference. Other genera of fungi such as Penicillium, Alternaria, and Paecilomyces have shown reactivity with the antibody used in this assay. This assay has not been evaluated for use with plasma or other sample types such as urine. The performance of this assay has not been evaluated with neonate samples. The use of anti-fungal therapy in some patients may result in reduced sensitivity with this assay.
