Submit tissue, bone, abscess fluid/aspirate, or non-intravascular catheter tip in a sterile screw cap container, or swab of surface wound.
A single specimen is sufficient for performing fungal and aerobic culture.
Swab specimens are not acceptable for fungal culture.
Swabs are not acceptable for surgical specimens.
