| Collection Instructions: |
|
Using a tongue depressor, gently depress the tongue and use a sterile swab to collect a specimen from between the tonsillar pillars and behind the uvula. Sweep the swab back and forth across the posterior pharynx, tonsillar areas, and any inflamed or ulcerated areas to obtain sample. Avoid touching the tongue, uvula, cheeks, or lips.
