Kids With Courage Special Guest Suzy Favor Hamilton

The name Suzy Favor Hamilton is synonymous with the word fast.

 

A native of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Suzy began running at the age of 9 and quickly fell in love with the sport. At Stevens Point High School, Suzy won 11 State titles and was named as one of the 100 top high school athletes of the century by Scholastic Sport Magazine.

 

She went on to UW-Madison, where she won a total of nine NCAA Championships and became the winningest female athlete in the history of the NCAA. Following graduation, Suzy has had a very successful professional career, participating in many world championships and three Olympic Games. Suzy is one of four women in the world to break the four minute mile.

 

Suzy now lives in Madison with her husband Mark and beautiful daughter, Kylie. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Capital Candlelighters and is Honorary Chair of the Suzy Run/Walk that benefits this organization. As the head of the Suzy Favor Hamilton Art Foundation, Suzy will be lending her expertise and enthusiasm at the arts and crafts tables during Kids With Courage IV.
