Living with HIV/AIDS: Perspectives Through the Lens

The UW Health HIV/AIDS Comprehensive Care Program at UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin is organizing a special photography exhibit and is inviting people living with HIV/AIDS to participate.

 

Living with HIV/AIDS: Perspectives Through the Lens

 

People living with HIV/AIDS in southern Wisconsin are invited to participate in Living with HIV/AIDS: Perspectives through the lens, a photo exhibit in recognition of World AIDS Day (December 1).

 

The exhibit, organized by the UW Health HIV/AIDS Comprehensive Care Program, will be on display from November 15 to December 15 at the Overture Center in downtown Madison.

 

The Assignment

 

Selected participants will receive weekly photo assignments intended to capture specific themes. The group will be guided by four professional photographers and will meet weekly in September to provide feedback to each other and receive professional technical advice. The exhibit will include a collection of photos from each participant. Space is limited to 10 people.

 

Application Requirements

  • Living with HIV/AIDS
  • Able to meet Wednesdays in September from 6-8pm at UW Hospital in Madison
  • Access to digital camera capable of high-resolution photos

Submission Instructions

 

Applicants should e-mail the following to sweiss@uwhealth.org with "photo submission" in the subject line of the message:

  • One photograph taken by applicant about "inspiration" with short, written description
  • One photograph taken by applicant about "loss" with short, written description

Photographs should be high-resolution jpgs (.jpg) included as attachments. The written descriptions can be included as Word document attachments or as text in the e-mail.
