Our Services
UW Health's Heart and Vascular Care program provides optimal care for patients with acute myocardial infarction (heart attack).
The chart belows displays the percent of UW Hospital and Clinics heart attack patients who got all the recommended care appropriate for them, including:
- Aspirin within 24 hours of arrival at the hospital and at discharge
- Beta blockers at discharge
- Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor medication or angiotensin receptor-blocker (ARB) medication for patients with left ventricular systolic dysfunction
- Smoking cessation education
- Quick treatment for thrombolysis (blood clots)
- Timely percutaneous coronary intervention
- Statins prescribed at discharge
