Antes de la cirugía
El personal del hospital le llamará el día antes de la cirugía para informarle sobre la hora a la que debe llegar.
_____ Debe hacer arreglos para que un adulto le lleve a casa y pase la noche
con Usted.
_____ No tome aspirina ni Advil® durante 7 días antes de la cirugía. En su
lugar puede usar Tylenol® si lo necesita.
_____ No consuma alcohol 24 horas antes de la cirugía.
_____ Por favor, llame a nuestra clínica si tiene un catarro, fiebre, o está
enferma.
_____ No coma ni beba nada después de la medianoche la noche antes
de la cirugía. No trague agua por la mañana cuando se lave los dientes.
_____ Dúchese la noche antes de la cirugía o la mañana de la cirugía. No use
lociones corporales, polvos, ni perfume después de ducharse.
_____ Quítese todas las joyas, piercings, maquillaje, esmalte de uñas y uñas
falsas.
_____ Quítese las lentes de contacto. Use lentes. Traiga el estuche de las
lentes con una etiqueta de identificación.
_____ Quítese la dentadura postiza. Infórmenos si tiene dientes sueltos.
Después de la cirugía
_____ No maneje un automóvil durante 24 horas después de la cirugía.
_____ Tome medicamento para el dolor tan pronto como empiece a tenerlo.
No maneje mientras esté tomando medicamentos opiáceos para el
dolor. Pueden producir somnolencia.
Se reunirá con su doctor antes de la cirugía. El doctor responderá a las preguntas que pueda tener. Después de la cirugía, irá a la Sala de Recuperaciones por aproximadamente 2 horas. Es posible que su doctor decida que pase la noche en el hospital si tiene alguna preocupación.

Getting Ready for Outpatient Surgery

Before Surgery
The hospital staff will call you the ay before to let you know the time to arrive.
_____ You must arrange for an adult to drive you home and stay with you that night.
_____ No aspirin or Advilfor 7 days before surgery. Tylenol may be used instead as needed.
_____ No alcohol for 24 hours before surgery.
_____ Please call your clinic to report any cold, fever or illness.
_____ Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your surgery. Don’t swallow
water in the morning when brushing your teeth.
_____ Shower the night before or the morning of surgery. Do not use any body lotions, powders, or
perfumes after your shower.
_____ Remove all jewelry, piercings, make-up, nail polish and fake nails.
_____ Remove contact lenses. Wear glasses. Bring labeled glass case.
_____ Remove dentures. Let us know if you have loose teeth.
After Surgery
_____ Do not drive a car for 24 hours after surgery.
_____ Take pain medicine when pain first starts. Do not drive while taking opioid pain medicine. It can make you drowsy.
You will meet with your doctor before your surgery. The doctor will answer any questions you may have. After surgery you will go to the recovery room for about 2 hours. Your doctor may have you stay for the night if there are any concerns.
