Cómo usar un inhalador nasal en aerosol
Suministros que va a necesitar
- Una tetina de biberón estándar. No use una tetina de Platex®.
- Su inhalador medidor de dosis.
Pasos a seguir
1. Suénese ligeramente la nariz para despejar los orificios nasales.
2. Remueva la tapa de la boquilla del inhalador.
3. Remueva la cubierta de la tetina de biberón para bebés.
4. Haga un agujero más grande en la tetina donde hay un agujero diminuto. Necesita ser lo suficientemente grande para que el medicamento pase a través del mismo y entre en los orificios nasales.
5. Una la tetina a la boquilla del inhalador.
6. Prepare el inhalador 4 veces antes de usarlo por primera vez. Si no ha usado el inhalador durante 7 días o si se ha caído, prepárelo 1 vez.
7. Agite bien el inhalador durante 5 segundos antes de cada spray.
8. Coloque la tetina en uno de los orificios nasales. Eche la cabeza hacia delante de forma que el spray vaya dirigido a la parte trasera de la nariz.
9. Coloque el inhalador alejado del centro de la cara. Aspire cuidadosamente el spray por la nariz. No lo haga de forma violenta (vea la imagen).
10 Exhale por la boca.
11. Repita el procedimiento en el otro orificio de la nariz.
Repita los pasos del 1 al 11 si se le indicó que usara más de un spray. Siga siempre las instrucciones de la receta y haga saber al equipo de cuidados médicos si funciona.
Almacene el inhalador en posición vertical con la boquilla hacia abajo (como una bota en el armario).
Limpie el inhalador una vez a la semana después de la dosis de la noche. Use un cotonete humedecido con agua para limpiar la pequeña abertura circular por la que sale el medicamento del frasco. Haga girar el cotonete cuidadosamente con un movimiento circular para remover el medicamento que haya quedado. Repítalo después con un cotonete limpio y humedecido con agua para remover el medicamento que aún haya en la abertura. No coloque ninguna parte de su inhalador dentro del agua.

How to Use an Inhaler Nasal Spray
Supplies you will need
- A standard baby bottle nipple. Do not use a Platex® nurser nipple.
- Your meter dose inhaler.
Steps to Follow.
1. Gently blow your nose to clear the nostrils.
2. Remove the mouthpiece cap from the inhaler.
3. Remove the baby bottle nipple from the plastic cover.
4. Cut a larger hole in the nipple where the tiny hole is. This needs to be large enough for the medication to go through it into the nostrils.
5. Attach the nipple to the mouthpiece of the inhaler.
6. Prime the inhaler 4 times before using the first time. If you haven’t used the inhaler in 7 days or the inhaler has been dropped prime it 1 time.
7. Shake the inhaler well for 5 seconds before each spray
8. Put the nipple up to one nostril. Bend your head forward so the spray will aim toward the back of your nose.
9. Aim the inhaler away from the center of your face. Gently sniff the spray. Do not snort it. (see picture)
10. Breathe out through your mouth.
11. Repeat the steps for the other nostril.
Repeat the steps 1-11 if you have been told to use more than one spray. Always follow the prescription instructions and let your health care team know if it works.
Store your inhaler upright with the mouthpiece down like a boot in the closet.
Clean your inhaler once a week after the evening dose. Use a cotton swab dampened with water to clean the small circular opening where the medicine is sprayed from the canister. Gently twist the swab in a circular motion to remove any medicine. Repeat with a clean, water-dampened swab to remove any medicine still at the opening. Wipe the inside of the plastic actuator mouthpiece with a clean tissue dampened with water. Let the actuator air-dry overnight.
Do not put any part of your inhaler in water.
Hint: Keep an empty dispenser. Place canister in this dispenser and switch with each weekly cleaning.
