Muestra de Heces (Defecación)
Para Huevos y Parásitos
Materiales:
1. Estuche para la muestra de heces.
2. Sombrero para el inodoro u otro contenedor seco para contener las heces.
3. Guantes - si los solicita
4. Formulario de solicitud del laboratorio.
5. Etiquetas con su nombre para cada frasco de muestra.
Procedimiento:
1. Lea las instrucciones completas que se encuentran en el estuche antes de tomar la muestra.
2. Tome la muestra de heces como se le indica en el estuche. Use la herramienta proporcionada con el estuche para colocar las heces dentro de los frascos. Lávese las manos.
3. Escriba en el frasco y el formulario del laboratorio la fecha en que tomó la muestra. Ponga la etiqueta con su nombre en cada frasco.
4. Si está tomando más de una muestra, tome el espécimen cada dos días hasta que haya tomado todas las muestras.
5. Tan pronto como haya tomado las muestras, traigalas al Laboratorio Ambulatorio (Ambulatory Laboratory), en el G5/270 del hospital, o en el Laboratorio que se encuentra en una de las clínicas de la UW Health.
Notas Especiales:
Notifique a su proveedor de cuidados médicos si ha estado tomando antibióticos, Pepto Bismol, aceite mineral, o productos de fibra como Metamucil en las últimas dos semanas. Además, informe a su proveedor si ha tenido estudios de radiografías con bario en los últimos 10 días. Estos interfieren con los resultados de la prueba.

Stool Samples for Ova and Parasites
What You Will Need
1. Stool Sample Kit
2. Toilet hat or other dry container to collect stool
3. Gloves-if you request them
4. Laboratory (lab) request form
5. Name labels for each sample bottle
Procedure
1. Read the complete instructions in the kit before you collect the sample.
2. Collect stool sample as directed in the kit. Use the tool provided with the kit to put stool in bottles. Wash your hands.
3. Write the date you collected the stool on the bottles and lab form. Put a name label on each bottle.
4. If more than one sample is being collected, collect stool every other day until all samples are collected.
5. As soon as samples are collected bring them to the Hospital Outpatient Lab, G5/270, or to the Lab at one of the UW Health Clinics.
Special Notes
Tell your health care provider if you have been taking antibiotics, Pepto Bismol®, mineral oil or fiber products (Metamucil®) in the last 2 weeks or if you have had barium x ray studies in the last 10 days. These interfere with test results.
