 Circuncisión (Pediatría)
 

Cuidados del vendaje

 

• Tendrá cierta inflamación, formación de magulladura/contusión, y un poco de sangrado.
• Aplique el ungüento sobre el vendaje o anillo para mantener el área de la incisión húmeda y evitar que se seque:
• No bañe a su hijo en la tina durante 3 días.
  • Los bebés pueden tener un baño de esponja sin lavar el área de la circuncisión.
  • Los niños mayores de 4 años pueden ducharse después de 48 horas.  Es mejor si se colocan de espalda al chorro de agua en lugar de estar directamente enfrente del agua.  Debe dejar el vendaje del pene puesto durante tres días.
• Si tiene algún punto de sutura colocado, debería disolverse por sí solo en 2 a 4 semanas.
• Cuando se remueva el vendaje o cuando el anillo se caiga, aplique ungüento con antibiótico en la incisión durante 1 semana:
  • Si es bebé, con cada cambio de pañal
  • Cuatro veces al día en niños que están entrenados para usar el baño por sí solos.

 

Actividad

 

• Su hijo puede volver a realizar cualquier actividad normal que pueda hacer cómodamente.
• No debe nadar durante 1 semana.

Dressing Care

 

• There will be some swelling, bruising and spotty bleeding.
• Apply ointment over the dressing or ring to keep the circumcision site moist and prevent drying
• Do not soak your child in a bath tub for 3 days.
  • Infants may have a sponge bath without washing the circumcision site.
  • Boys over 4 years old may shower after 48 hours.  It is best if they stand with their backs to the stream of water instead of directly facing the water.
• If any stitches are placed, they should dissolve on their own in 2 - 4 weeks.
• When the dressing is removed or the ring falls off, apply antibiotic ointment to the incision for 1 week.
  • With every diaper change for infants.
  • Four times per day for boys who are potty trained.

 

Activity

 

• Your child may resume any of his normal activity that he feels comfortable doing.
• No swimming for 1 week.
