You can buy a Fleets® enema at the drug store.  Read the package insert and use the Fleets® enema about 1 hour before bedtime the night before.  It helps to avoid eating foods that cause gas for 2 days before surgery.  It also helps to drink a lot of water to help clear the bowels.

You will meet with your doctor before your surgery.  The doctor will answer further questions you may have.  After surgery you will go to the recovery room and then to your inpatient room.
