Description

Chlorambucil is chemotherapy given to treat cancer.

 

How It Is Given

It is taken by mouth.  The drug may be taken daily or as one large dose (many tablets) once every 2 to 3 weeks.

 

Common Side Effects

  • Reduced blood counts

 

Less Common Side Effects

  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Rash
  • Confusion, restlessness, or lethargy
  • Lung changes

 

Call Your Health Care Provider if You Develop

  • A fever greater than 100.8° F
  • Rash
  • Confusion, restlessness, or lethargy
  • Difficulty breathing

 

Special Concerns

  • Take on an empty stomach.
