Preparing a Glucagon InjectionSkip to the navigation
A glucagon emergency kit has a syringe that contains liquid (diluent), and a bottle that contains the medicine glucagon.
Remove the seal from the top of the bottle. Don't touch the rubber part that is at the center of the bottle top.
Take the cover off the needle of the syringe.
Remove the plunger lock, the plastic clip that keeps the plunger in place.
Insert the needle of the syringe into the bottle that contains the medicine.
Push the plunger of the syringe to force the diluent from the syringe into the bottle.
Remove the syringe needle from the bottle. Then put the cover back on the needle.
Turn the bottle back and forth to mix the contents.
Insert the needle of the syringe into the bottle again, then turn the bottle upside down and pull back on the plunger to draw the dose of glucagon into the syringe.
