Critical Care Specialty Residency

The resident in University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics' Critical Care Specialty Residency will participate as a member of the critical care team in a tertiary care/Level One Trauma Center.
 
In our Critical Care Specialty Residency program, accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the resident will:
  • Practice in a combined adult medical and surgical intensive care area
  • Participate in academic and preceptor programs of the UW School of Pharmacy
  • Complete project work acceptable for publication
  • Experience rotations tailored to meet their needs and interests while also meeting ASHP standards

UW Hospital and Clinics operates six intensive care units with the following bed distributions: 

  • 24 Medical/Surgical ICU
  • 21 Pediatric ICU
  • 7 Medical/Cardiac ICU
  • 8 Cardiothoracic Surgery ICU
  • 7 Burn ICU
  • 16 Neurology/Neurosurgery ICU
