Parking for Residents and Fellows
Residents have the option of purchasing parking in one of the designated lots around UW Hospital and Clinics. Parking allocations are done on an annual basis in September.
Prices for parking will vary depending on location of lot selection and distance from the hospital. Parking payroll deductions will be over a 10-month time from September through June.
Parking for incoming residents is managed by programs collecting graduating resident permits. Those permits are then passed on to the incoming residents.
Parking for Residents Called Back to Hospital After Hours
Residents who are on home call and need to come back to the hospital after hours, may park in the patient parking ramp in front of UW Hospital and Clinics for patient care purposes. Do not parking in the Valet Section of the Ramp or you may be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense.
Leaving between 6pm and Midnight
Residents that need to return to the hospital after hours, may park in the patient parking ramp. If you leave to go home before midnight, you may stop at the hospital security desk, present a parking ramp stub timed after 6pm along with your resident ID badger to have your ticket validated.
Leaving Between Midnight and 7:45am
If you leave the ramp during these times, you do not need to be validated. There are no attendants.
Leaving between 7:45am and Noon
You may bring your parking ramp stub timed after 6pm and ID badge to the GME office in H4/831 to be validated.
This validation will only be good until noon that day. You will need to either leave to go home or move to your assigned lot no later than noon. If your vehicle is not moved by noon, it is the responsibility of the resident to pay the parking fee.
The GME office will not be responsible for parking fines you may be charged for parking in the ramp after noon.
Please remember that the parking ramp is primarily for patients and their families during visiting and clinical hours.
American Family Children's Hospital Parking Lot Restrictions

Residents who violate this policy will be ticketed and possibly towed at owner's expense. Additionally, employees may also incur disciplinary action for these violations.
Residents called in after hours should park in the parking ramp in front of the UW Hospital. See after hour guidelines listed above.
