CPR Certification Information
Department Requirements
As stated in the Appointment Information for Residents and Fellows document, your appointment is contingent upon meeting the requirement of certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
All residents must be CPR certified within the first three months of training and must maintain compliance throughout their training at UW Hospital and Clinics. Certification must be through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
If you are currently certified, provide a copy (both sides) of your certification card.
If you need to be certified, your certification has lapsed or you have not been previously certified, you are strongly encouraged to complete this requirement prior to your start date. Contact your coordinator to see if you have already been scheduled for the required classes. If not, contact the EMS Office at the appropriate number for information on certification classes.
If you need to be recertified and your card has not yet expired, you are strongly encouraged to complete this requirement prior to your start date. Contact your coordinator to see if you have already been scheduled for the required classes. If not, contact the EMS Office at the appropriate number for information on recertification classes.
