Benefits for Regular Full-Time and Part-Time Employees

Please review the below information for the 2012 benefit changes and enrollment opportunities.  If you have questions, we encourage you to attend a Focus on Your Benefits session to speak directly with a member of the UWHC Benefits Staff.

IMPORTANT 2012 Benefit Changes:

Open Enrollments: October 3 - 28, 2011

HEALTH INSURANCE

  • Open Enrollment: This year you can enroll in the plan without restrictions even if you are not currently insured.  You may also add/remove your Adult Child(ren), Domestic Partner and/or his/her eligible dependents.
  • 10% Coinsurance: For illness/injury related services, insurance will cover 90% and there will be a 10% patient responsibility with an out-of-pocket maximum of $500/individual and $1,000/family.  You may want to consider how the Employee Reimbursement Account can assist you with this new coinsurance.
  • Premium Holiday: Health insurance premiums will change from being deducted from your paycheck two months in advance to one month in advance. This change will result in a premium holiday in November, meaning no regular premiums will be deducted in November.
  • Unity UW Health members:  Unity UW Health is changing its dental administrator to Momentum Insurance Plans, from Delta Dental.  While the dental benefits will remain the same, this change results in significant provider network differences.  Unity Community's dental administrator will remain Delta Dental.

Dependent Eligibility

The maximum dependent eligibility age is changing from 27 to 26 in 2012.  If you have a dependent that is or will be turning age 26 by December 31, 2011, they will lose eligibility for your health, supplemental delta dental, VSP vision and EPIC Benefits+ insurance plans as of January 1, 2012.  In 2012, adult dependents will lose eligibility at the end of the month in which they turn 26.  Please review the Adult Child Benefit Information Sheet for additional information.
