Sara Johnson, MD, is a UW Health palliative care medicine doctor and associate professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Johnson is also the program director of the hospice and palliative medicine training program.

Dr. Johnson cares for hospitalized patients with serious or terminal illnesses. Working with a team of experts, Dr. Johnson provides symptom management and pain relief medicine as part of complex medical care plans.

As part of her holistic approach to patient care, Dr. Johnson offers family support and information for loved ones.

My goal is to get to know my patients and their families on a personal level to determine how best to support them during their illness.
