Dr. Gubbels is the director of the UW Health Cochlear Implant Program and is certified in both neurotology and otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. He is fellowship trained in otology, neurotology and skull-base surgery. Dr. Gubbels’ clinical interests include cochlear implantation in children and adults, diseases of the ear, hearing rehabilitation, facial nerve disorders, acoustic neuromas and skull-base surgery.

Dr. Gubbels’ research interests include regenerative therapies for hearing loss, inner ear development, congenital ear disorders and cochlear implantation.
