About

Matthew Swedlund, MD, MBA, is a family medicine doctor at UW Health and an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. He provides health care to patients of all ages- children to the elderly.

Dr. Swedlund performs a range of procedures, including vasectomies, joint injections and dermatologic procedures. He also treats chronic conditions, manages skin conditions, and cares for patients with mental health and addiction recovery needs. He also conducts research on how primary care processes, electronic communication and telehealth can be used to provide better patient care.

In his free time, Dr. Swedlund enjoys reading, playing video games, traveling, camping and playing outside with his wife and three children. His family’s favorite activities are boating and hiking in the summer and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter.

I enjoy developing relationships with patients over time and caring for entire families. One of my favorite experiences as a clinician is when I have the privilege of caring for multiple generations of a family.
