About

As a physician specially trained in emergency medicine, Mary Westergaard, MD leads a team of expert health care clinicians who treat people with illnesses or injuries that could be life-threatening or pose an immediate risk to their health and well-being. Dr. Westergaard serves as vice chair of education in the BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. In addition to her focus on graduate medical education, her professional interests include the role of women in medicine; diversity, equity and inclusion; academic promotions; and physician mentorship.
