Dr. Mark Lucarelli specializes in oculofacial surgery (also known as oculoplastic surgery or oculoplastics). This area includes medically necessary eyelid surgery, cosmetic eyelid, midface and brow surgery, thryoid eye disease, repair of skin cancer defects and trauma, tear duct surgery, orbital surgery, fillers and Botox, and other cosmetic facial procedures. Dr. Lucarelli is fellowship-trained and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He serves as program director for an ASOPRS-sponsored fellowship in Ophthalmic Facial Plastic Surgery and is considered a national leader in his field.

Research

In addition to his patient care activities, Dr. Lucarelli is active in anatomic and clinical research. His areas of particular interest include facial anatomy, periocular surgical techniques and thyroid eye disease. Dr. Lucarelli has served on the board of the International Thyroid Eye Disease Society (ITEDS) since 2007. He is author or co-author of more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters.
