About

Maria Stanley, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatrician. Dr. Stanley provides care for children who have, or are at risk for, developmental delays or challenges. She also cares for children with complex medical and genetic conditions that cause developmental delays or differences.

Dr. Stanley is experienced in caring for children with Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), pediatric feeding disorders and other feeding challenges. She also works with infants who have graduated from the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and have increased risk for developmental delays.

Dr. Stanley works with families to identify conditions and receive appropriate care for their child's health, developmental and behavioral concerns. She also helps children of all ages access support they might need so they are able to participate fully at home, at school and in the community.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Stanley is a clinical professor and chief of the Division of Developmental Pediatrics and Rehabilitation Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She is also very active in Down syndrome research.

Outside of work, Dr. Stanley enjoys walking, hiking and spending time with her family.

My philosophy is to support and celebrate the strengths of my patients. My hope is that my work makes a difference.
