Lindsay Clark, PhD

Lindsay Clark, PhD, is a UW Health neuropsychologist (brain function specialist for older adults). She’s also an assistant professor and researcher at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Medicine in the Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology.

Lindsay helps to evaluate and diagnose older adults who experience memory loss, concentration problems and other brain disorders. These conditions include dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s-related dementia, Lewy body dementia and vascular dementia (which can follow a stroke).

To assess how severe the problem is, she conducts standardized tests and talks with patients and families about how memory loss impacts their daily lives. She also helps to identify patients who have memory loss associated with depression, sleep disorders or medication side effects.

Lindsay works with a doctor and social worker to make diagnoses and create treatment plans. Treatment may include medications to slow memory decline or other strategies to help patients cope.

In addition to patient care, she studies ways to detect early signs of Alzheimer’s disease and improve treatment.

During free time, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, camping and reading.
