Laura Hammel, MD, is a UW Health anesthesiologist and an associate professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Hammel provides anesthesia care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and those undergoing abdominal organ transplants. Her clinical specialty is kidney and liver transplant anesthesiology.

Dr. Hammel is skilled in all forms of anesthesia care, including general, regional and local applications. She studies patient information and personalizes care to meet their individual needs.

My goal is to provide high acuity care to the sickest patients.
