Katherine Habeeb, MD, is a UW Health pulmonary and critical care medicine doctor and a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Habeeb cares for adults with a range of respiratory diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and interstitial lung disease or ILD (disorders that cause scarring of lung tissue). She also cares for adults in the intensive care unit (ICU) with various critical health issues.
Dr. Habeeb takes a whole-person approach to care. She believes it is important to recognize each patient’s physical and emotional state while guiding them through the medical system.
Her care philosophy is to listen to patients to better understand their unique needs and provide education to help them make informed decisions. For her critical care patients, she offers support for family members and includes them in all decisions.
In her free time, Dr. Habeeb enjoys traveling, hiking and volunteering at a local food bank and animal shelter.
I enjoy the relationships that I develop with my patients and getting to really know them over the years.
