Jeremy Smith, MD, FACP, is a board-certified internal medicine doctor at UW Health and an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Medicine. As a primary care provider, Dr. Smith specializes in treating adults and provides routine physicals and preventive care. He also manages chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

What Dr. Smith enjoys most about his profession is interacting with patients and creating personal connections. He feels fulfilled when he can help educate patients about their health, turning complex information into something that’s easy to understand so patients can make healthy choices. He sees himself as a coach that partners with patients to improve their health so they can enjoy what matters most to them.

As an associate program director in the Internal Medicine Residency program, Dr. Smith is dedicated to educational innovation.

In his free time, Dr. Smith likes to be outside, whatever the season. He enjoys running, yoga, skiing and tennis.

My hope for each one of my patients is that they can enjoy the parts of their life that bring them gratification. That might mean family. It might mean travel. It might mean exercise. My goal is to optimize their health with them so they can enjoy life.
