About

Jan Mussallem, PT, is a UW Health physical therapist who specializes in sports rehabilitation.

As part of the UW Health Sports Medicine Dancer's Clinic and Performing Arts Medicine teams, Jan treats a variety of upper- and lower-extremity sports injuries. She has a special interest in working with dancers, gymnasts, cheerleaders, figure skaters and divers to prevent and treat biomechanical faults and injuries. Jan also works with patients who have had hip surgery, including a procedure to treat hip dysplasia — a hip joint abnormality.

As a high school and college athlete who sustained injuries herself, Jan recognizes the importance of skilled rehabilitation for athletic injuries. She provides comprehensive care that focuses on safely and quickly returning athletes to their sport.

Additionally, Jan has conducted research in Irish dance injury patterns and ballet rehabilitation protocols.  She also participates in research that focuses on “return to sport” progressive testing following minimally invasive hip surgery.

I treat the whole person to optimize performance and allow a safe return to their sport.
