James Haine, MD

About

James Haine, MD, is a UW Health nternal medicine doctor and a clinical associate professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Haine provides primary care services for people with chronic health conditions, such as high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol. He also works with breast cancer survivors.

Dr. Haine has special interests in breast cancer screening for high-risk patients, as well as endocrine therapy and osteoporosis prevention for breast cancer survivors. Dr. Haine believes in mutual decision-making with his patients and takes the time to get to know their needs and goals. Together, they come up with an individualized care plan that makes sense for the patient and then work as a team throughout treatment.

Dr. Haine became a doctor because he was interested in science and how the body works. He also wanted a career that allowed him to interact with people. He enjoys primary care because he can develop long-term relationships with his patients and follow them over time.

Dr. Haine conducts research focusing on appropriate follow-up and quality-of-life issues for breast cancer survivors.

I really want to be a doctor who provides you with information about your health and health conditions, so that we can be a team and make decisions together regarding your health.
