Dr. Dobie Giles is Chief of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery in the UW Ob-Gyn Division of Gynecology. He has practiced as a female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgeon/urogynecologist and has taught a number of advanced surgical courses on topics, including "Sacral Colpopexy," through the World Institute of Surgical and Clinical Education, and "Vaginal Hysterectomy: Mastering the Single and Concealed-Incision Approach," at the AAGL 41st Annual Global Congress of Minimally Invasive Gynecology.
Dr. Giles is a recipient of many academic and medical honors, including the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) Faculty Award for Excellence in Medical Student Education and the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Education.
Dr. Giles is a member of numerous professional associations and societies, and has served as chair of the Core Reading in Minimally Invasive Gynecology Committee of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparascopists, a member of the Education Activities Review Committee of the same organization and secretary/treasurer of Milwaukee Gynecologic Society. He has also served as a reviewer for the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology, the International Urogynecology Journal and the Journal of Pelvic Medicine and Surgery.
