About

David Bluemke, MD, is a UW Health radiologist and a professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Bluemke interprets diagnostic scans (such as MRI or CT scan) for patients with cardiovascular disease, including conditions that affect the heart’s ability to pump blood. He also interprets fluoroscopic (moving X-rays) studies and thoracic (chest) imaging. The patient’s treating doctor uses the results from Dr. Bleumke’s radiology reports to determine the next steps of the treatment plan.

Dr. Bluemke has a special interest in genetic heart disease. His research involves evaluating patients with rare cardiomyopathies and using large population databases to evaluate the presence of cardiovascular disease. Dr. Bluemke is also involved in evaluating new technological advances in radiology.

I’m passionate about using the latest healthcare technology for early disease diagnosis and treatment.
