Faculty, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public HealthDr. Ostlie became surgeon-in-chief at American Family Children's Hospital in 2012 after 12 years as a pediatric surgeon at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics in Kansas City. He specializes in minimally invasive pediatric and neonatal surgery, thoracic and oncologic surgery, chest wall deformities, hernia surgery, surgical critical care and trauma and hypospadias repair. Dr. Ostlie completed a two-year Pediatric Surgery Fellowship at the Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics in Kansas City and received his certification in Surgical Critical Care after completing the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship. He completed his general surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic Scottsdale, and during that time performed a surgical research fellowship at Cambridge University, Cambridge, England.
