Faculty, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public HealthDr. Gallagher is an Associate professor of Neurology (CHS) at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She is also a staff physician at the Middleton VA Hospital. She specializes in movement disorders with special interests in young onset Parkinson’s disease, atypical Parkinsonian syndromes and normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH). She performs botulinum toxin injections with electromyographic guidance and diagnostic electromyographic studies at the VA.

| Research |
Dr. Gallagher has initiated research projects in normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) and Parkinson’s disease. Her most significant focus is in the correlation between positron emission tomography images and symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. She has recently received a career development grant from the Veterans Administration that will focus on Parkinson’s disease. At the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Dr. Gallagher is an educator of medical students, residents and fellows. She is the former director of the Integrated Clinical Neurosciences course for senior medical students and has received several awards for her teaching accomplishments. |
