Dr. Gallagher is an Associate professor of Neurology (CHS) at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She is also a staff physician at the Middleton VA Hospital. Dr. Gallagher specializes in movement disorders, treating patients with Parkinson's disease, tremor, dystonia, myoclonus, cerebellar diseases and other causes of abnormal movement. She performs botulinum toxin injections with electromyographic guidance and manages deep brain stimulators.

- Lumbar Puncture
Dr. Gallagher has initiated research projects in normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) and Parkinson’s disease. Her most significant focus is in the correlation between positron emission tomography images and symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. She has recently received a career development grant from the Veterans Administration that will focus on Parkinson’s disease. At the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Dr. Gallagher is an educator of medical students, residents and fellows. She is the former director of the Integrated Clinical Neurosciences course for senior medical students and has received several awards for her teaching accomplishments.
