Dr. Klein is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Medical Microbiology and Immunology, at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He maintains a special research and clinical interest in systemic fungal infections and has pioneered efforts in molecular pathogenesis and immunology that have helped transform the discipline into a vibrant field of research. He has published more than 100 original articles, reviews and book chapters on this subject and is a world leader in this field.
Dr. Klein has served on a number of local, national and international committees, including as Chair of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Biological Sciences Divisional Committee for Tenure and Promotion and as a Charter or Ad Hoc member of several NIH study sections. He has served on the Medical School's NIH K30 Training Grant Advisory Board and the Research Advisory Committee in Pediatrics.
