Dr. Amy Fowler is an assistant professor in the Department of Radiology, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Section of Breast Imaging and intervention, co-director of the Breast Cancer Research Advisory Network for UW Carbone Cancer Center and is a member of the UW Health Breast Center. In addition, she is chair for the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Breast Cancer Imaging Outreach Committee, vice chair of the NRG Oncology Imaging Committee and a Breast Expert Panel Member for the American Joint Committee on Cancer.

She specializes in breast imaging radiology which includes the interpretation of screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasound and breast MRI. She also performs procedures including image-guided breast biopsies, cyst aspiration, and pre-operative localizations using wires, radioactive seeds, or clips.

Dr. Fowler earned her MD and PhD from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison, WI. She completed a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in breast imaging at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University, St. Louis, MO. She is certified by the American Board of Radiology and is a Fellow of the Society of Breast Imaging (FSBI).

Her research is focused on molecular imaging biomarkers to assess early therapeutic response for breast cancer in preclinical and translational clinical studies. She is the principal investigator for research investigating the performance of simultaneous breast PET/MRI using targeted radiopharmaceuticals for estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor.EditCredentials
