Amy Muchow, MD

About

Amy Muchow, MD, is a UW Health internal medicine doctor and clinical assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Medicine.

Dr. Muchow offers primary care for adults ages 18 and older. She also diagnoses and treats a wide range of injuries, illnesses and medical conditions, including diabetes, kidney disease, heart issues and lung disease. She believes in the value of preventive care, which helps keep people as healthy as possible at every stage of life.

Her special clinical interests include hospice and palliative care, as well as general care for people who are aging.

During initial visits, Dr. Muchow takes time to talk with her patients and review their medical histories. She believes that listening to their concerns is essential and encourages them to ask questions. She outlines their treatment options and works to make sure they understand their care plan and why it’s important.

As needed, Dr. Muchow collaborates with specialists to ensure that her patients get the best care possible.

During her free time, Dr. Muchow enjoys travel.

Sometimes health care is a puzzle. I enjoy figuring out how to help patients get healthy — whether that’s losing weight, walking without shortness of breath or recovering from illness.
