Research

Dr. Klein received several career development awards from the NIH: a Physician Scientist Award, a First Award, and a Research Career Development Award. He is funded with several active NIH grants. He received one of NIH’s most coveted honors, a MERIT award, which provides 10 years of continuous funding to the most outstanding and productive NIH funded investigators. Dr. Klein was awarded the UW-Madison Hilldale Award in Biological Sciences by the University for his distinguished research achievements. He was elected Vice Chair (2012) and Chairman (2014) at the Inaugural Gordon Research Conference on Immunology of Fungal Diseases. He has been inducted into the Association of American Physicians, a national society of physician-scientist leaders.
