Sorority women on the UW-Madison campus will be working hard on the gridiron in a fund-raising event for American Family Children's Hospital Sigma in a powder-puff flag football tournament sponsored by the Phi Epsilon fraternity.
Proceeds from team shirt sales and entry fees will benefit the hospital. Fraternity members will serve as team coaches and referees.
"The powder-puff tournament is one of the most exciting events we do all year, and everyone involved is very excited to play against each other," says Sigma Phi Epsilon spokesman Geoff Gerschke. "This tournament is our single biggest fundraiser for the hospital every year."
Money from the powder-puff football tournament and Tour De Touchdown will help fund the hospital's Child Life programs, which include games and various programs to relieve patients and families from the stress of hospitalization.
