The HIV/AIDS Community Advisory Council (CAC) acts as the guiding community voice in the development of effective strategies, policies and programs of the HIV/AIDS Comprehensive Care Program. The mission of the CAC is to improve the quality of life for patients by helping improve the services provided to them.

 

The CAC seeks to:

  • Improve access to diagnosis, treatment and care
  • Increase community awareness of HIV/AIDS
  • Reduce stigma and fear associated with HIV/AIDS
  • Advocate for science-based HIV/AIDS education and prevention
  • Support a comprehensive community response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic

 

Requirements for CAC membership: 

  • Living with HIV/AIDS
  • Able to commit to a one-year term
  • Able to commit to quarterly meetings of approximately two hours in length
  • Willing to bring ideas and concerns about patient-related clinic operations
  • Willing to engage respectfully with other CAC members and clinic staff
