About UW Health Colon and Rectal Surgery

UW Health's Colon and Rectal Surgery Program, based at UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin, is the largest colon and rectal surgery specialty group in the state of Wisconsin.

Through collaboration with the Divisions of Gastroenterology and Medical Oncology, our colon and rectal surgery program provides a unique, multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation and treatment of benign and malignant disorders of the colon and rectum.

The focus of the program's clinical service is to provide state-of-the-art care through the application of novel surgical techniques and innovative technology, improving patient surgical treatment outcomes.

In addition to our clinical services, we conduct basic and clinical research, and are a major component of the medical student and general surgery resident teaching programs within the Department of Surgery.

We provide educational programs for physicians and health providers throughout the state and region, as well on a national level. Our facilities provide state-of the-art equipment and technology, ensuring our patients the highest standard of care.
