Trauma Nursing Critical Care (TNCC)

These courses will be taught in accordance with Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) guidelines.The primary course objective is a standardized nursing knowledge for trauma. The course covers cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills necessary for the trauma care and emergency care.
 
Audience
 
The TNCC may be officially attended by registered nurses (RNs). Other health care providers may attend the course as observers.
 
Notes:

The initial course is a two-day course. Reverification will take place the second day of a two-day course. A limited number of reverification spots will be allowed in each course. To participate in the reverificiation day the attendee must have a current TNCC card. A textbook will not automatically be mailed for the course. However, a textbook is required.

UW Hospital and Clinics Employees: $65 for initial course and reverification (paid by hospital units); Non-Employees: $180 for initial course, $140 for reverification; Manual Fee: $50 (required for all students)

Prerequisites:

In order to maximize success in the TNCC, it is recommended that the participant have at least six months of clinical nursing experience in an emergency care setting. It is assumed that the course participant possesses generic nursing knowledge, has an understanding of emergency care terminology and has familiarity with standard emergency equipment.
