Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Renewal

These courses will be taught in accordance with American Heart Association guidelines. The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course is to provide health professionals with: 
  • Information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest
  • Information and strategies needed to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children
  • The cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest
Audience
 
Pediatricians, house staff, emergency physicians, family physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists and other healthcare providers who are responsible for the well-being of infants and children.
 
Notes:

This is a one-day course. The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS and PALS, and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association.

Prerequisites:

This course is for participants with a current PALS provider card who are due to renew. Intended students must have good understanding of EKGs prior to course. Current certification in Healthcare Provider CPR is required. CPR must be obtained through AHA or American Red Cross.
