
Healthy Living with Type 2 Diabetes education sessions are intended for persons new to the diagnosis of pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes or if you have been living with diabetes for a number of years.
In this four-week session, the UW Health diabetes staff will provide you with information and skills that will get you on your way to a lifetime of healthy living. Topics covered are Diabetes overview, adjustments to daily living, goal setting, exercise, healthy eating, blood sugar monitoring, complication prevention, community resources and sick day management.
Sessions are taught by registered nurses and dietitians, all of whom are certified diabetes educators.

There is a cost for the program and most health plans and medicare cover all or part of the cost. Check with your health plan ahead of time to determine if your insurance will provide coverage.
