A twelve-session group for adults who are living with chronic illness. In a supportive setting, participants set their own health-related goal and work on developing the skills and strategies to meet it. The group leader introduces scientific research on various types of active coping, and group members challenge each other to apply the research to their own unique situations. New groups are being formed on a regular basis, and individuals may join after an initial evaluation appointment.
The 1½ hour sessions meet once per week on a day and time that is agreed upon by the group members.
The group leader will assist you in checking with your insurance provider about coverage. Sessions are billed with Health and Behavior intervention codes. A referral from a medical provider may be required in some cases.
